MSP Jackie Baillie has welcomed the impact of a national scheme aimed at making homes warmer and more affordable to heat.
The Warmer Homes Scotland scheme has delivered energy efficiency improvements in 579 homes in the Dumbarton constituency over the past ten years.
A host of energy improvements, designed to make homes more comfortable and cheaper to heat, are delivered under the scheme.
The national initiative has seen delivery of measures, including 420 gas-fired condensing boilers, 413 heating system insulations, central heating systems and air source heat pumps, as well as energy efficient doors and windows, cavity, loft and wall insulation and other energy efficiency measures.
Warmer Homes Scotland proves a step-by-step service to identify where energy efficiency improvements can be made and arranges for the work to be carried out.
Work delivered under the Scottish Parliament backed scheme is carried out by accredited sub-contractors and independently checked.
Dumbarton MSP, Jackie Baillie, said: “I’m pleased to learn that the Warmer Homes Scotland scheme has supported so many people in my constituency to be warmer and more comfortable in their homes.
“The scheme is designed to help those living in, or at risk of, fuel poverty through the installation of energy efficiency improvements. This support can help people across the constituency to stay warm, make their home more energy efficient and, in turn, help them to better manage their energy bills.
“I’d encourage everyone to contact Home Energy Scotland to check if they are eligible to receive help under the scheme, as the improvements it offers could make a real difference this winter and in the years to come.”
In the last year, 99 per cent of Warmer Homes Scotland customers said they were satisfied or very satisfied with the work carried out in their homes.
Warmworks’ Chief Executive, Ross Armstrong, added: “The Warmer Homes Scotland scheme has been helping people right across Scotland to feel warmer and more comfortable in their homes for more than 10 years, and the last 12 months has seen a record year of delivery with more than 7,300 Scottish homes supported to improve their energy efficiency.
“This translates as more than 14,000 individual energy efficiency improvements, which are helping our customers save an average of £466 against their annual energy bills. That’s the equivalent of putting a month’s worth of groceries back in a family’s pocket.
“At a time when we begin to depend more on our heating at home, we’d encourage everyone across the Dumbarton area to check their eligibility now for the Warmer Homes Scotland scheme by getting in touch with Home Energy Scotland on 0808 808 2282.”
