A82 (Improvements Appraisal) | Scottish Parliament debates

An approximation of a STAG appraisal is not a full STAG appraisal, which is yet to be carried out. There has been little consultation with key local groups, and it is also not appropriate to treat this as a standard road-widening exercise, given

the sensitivity of the unique qualities of the landscape in Scotland’s first national park. There is an alternative inland proposal that has not been properly considered. Given that a full STAG appraisal has not taken place, will the minister commit to giving it a full appraisal and looking at the alternative solution, so that we can get the best possible upgrade to the A82 between Tarbet and Inverarnan?
